This is our Pinkalicious with the twins. She is such a stunning REW! Can't wait to breed her to our beautiful PW, Louie.

The twins decided to help me clean the rabbitry on this cold March day. What does that entail for them? Well, it's sweeping after I have already swept so two 5 year olds do not make a bigger mess. It's discussing how much money they get for helping (so they can go spend it at the dollar store lol). It's explaining that there aren't any dandelions to pick for the bunnies or to water (they love to water the weeds!) because its not warm enough yet. And, last but certainly not least, it's how many bunnies can they hold or play with before MiMi tells them to get in the house because it's too cold out here. Only one bunny at a time because one 5 year old has a short attention span. Two 5 year olds together tend to forget they are babysitting a bunny in the front yard that has now wondered off back into the rabbitry without them noticing lol. Playing tag is so much more fun than work!

We had two new litters born and decided to retire a few of our does today. Its been a lot to keep up with so many and it was just time. So there will be some major changes to Our Herd page now. We are removing them as they leave. It is sad to see some of our bunnies leave but nice to see them retire as pets. Pandora is one we have had for a long time. She is now 5 years old and going to go to the same retirement home as a fiber pet and live out her life basically cage free! We are excited for her! A few others left today and more are leaving soon.

Our herd is getting smaller but more manageable as I begin to work more on our other business'. We also raise Maine Coon cats. Last year, our family imported 4 of them from Russia and we are now starting to have kittens! That is very exciting for us. Hubby claims our male cat Pawzilla and our three granddaughters own the three female cats (which they love!). The other very busy animal business is my obsession. Of course I got obsessed with the Angoras just like Ahnika but my other love is my poodles. They sleep with us at night, travel with me now when it works out, and love checking out the bunnies as often as I let them! We will always have English Angora bunnies and I love to harvest their fiber! We just need to cut back on hoarding them lol. It has always been hard for me to say goodbye to them because of spending so much time with them every single day.

There is never a dull moment here at the Collins homestead! Keep watch for more updates as I find time to post them. God bless!!!

One of our beautiful black bucks still for sale!

at country bumpkin bunnies we adore our bunnies

'Rabbits have a subtle repertoire of body language to communicate so they don't draw attention to themselves. They use these signals to bond with their hutch mates, and the humans in their lives to say 'I love you'.
