So we have been running a special on all of our junior bunnies. They are so cute and fluffy. Fluffy means they need brushed a lot! So we decided to sell some bunnies for half price. I started back to school and don't have s much time in the barn because I have a lot of homework. So if you want a bunny, we have a bunch. We have two really cute girls. They are from different litters. Sasha, an opal doe and Sissy, a fawn doe. They have the same dad but different moms. Sasha's mom is Cuddle bunny, an opal just like her. Sissy is one of Sugar Baby's girls. Sugar baby is a REW and the dad is a lynx buck named Funny Bunny.
We have some of Sissy's brothers still here too. We have Charlie and Ebony who are both black and very hard to tell apart. Then there is cute little JoJo, a fawn buck who is also a litter mate to them also. JoJo and Ebony were sold together but the transport could not get them to their home so they are available again.
Last but not least is our cute little guy named Chessy. He is one of everyones favorites! We are shocked that he isn't sold because he is SO pretty! He is a chestnut agouti buck from Sweetie and Blue. All the bunnies are on the Bunnies for Sale pages. Check them out! The sale ends Sunday!

So we are leaving tomorrow to meet someone with a senior doe (pictured on the left) that is retiring to a pet home in Lexington. Then we are headed to Carrollton KY to meet DustiBunni Transport with 9 of our junior EA's.
Peter and Champagne are leaving to go be classroom bunnies! Champagne may be renamed Lucy and Peter will stay Peter. They are moving to Raleigh NC with a wonderful family and guess what!!!? The mom is a teacher and her daughters name is the same as mine! Her name is Annika, pronounced the same as mine! So cool! I get to skype her class and teach them about the bunnies. I'm so excited, this will be fun.
Carrot is moving to Wichita Falls TX and I think she is going to be a show bunny! So neat and exciting!
Sport is going to Newfoundland NJ to become part of a great family and be used as a therapy bunny to visit children in hospitals! I'm so proud of Sport! He has an awesome job.
Cottontail is going all the way down to Orlando FL! She is going to be a wonderful family pet for a super cool family. I am looking forward to hearing how they like her because she is a cool girl!
One of Honey Bunny's lilac bucks who we didn't name is going down to Ft. Worth TX along with Lenny and Glitter. These three pretty babies are going to be together forever and what a lucky home they get down there!
Sammy is going to be moving to Amory MS with a super cool young lady who loves bunnies JUST LIKE ME! She is going to give Sammy such a loving home and wonderful life! I look forward to keeping in touch with her and sharing bunny stories!

This is a picture of me and my dad. My dad came out to see what I was doing in the barn. I was taking care of my cute fluffy bunnies!

Today we were taking pictures of three liters that were all three weeks old. Pumpkin, Mocha, and Paris' litters. First we took pictures of Pumpkin's litter. One of her bunnies decided they didn't want their picture taken and ran as fast as it could! Who knew that tiny little thing could run that fast!!! It ended up running into a chicken coop, silly bunny! Then we took pictures of Mocha's litter. They were all good for me. Then we did Paris' litter last. They all behaved for the picture, but then we looked closely at one of the pearls and saw that it had blue eyes! We don't know what you call that color but we hope to find out soon! I hope its eyes stay blue!

So this is Halo. She is a sweet pointed EA that we got from Ms Millie's. She was on the scary monster trip that Stella got sick on. Her coat condition was horrifying and you will see stages of grooming how bad it really was. You could not get the scissors to cut through any of her matting and my mom had to use a surgical blade (#40) to get under the mats and try not to cut her skin. She said it was like pelting a matted cat (she is a groomer). You see the last photo, Halo's coat was in one piece like a fur rug. Let this be a lesson for anyone who does not take good care of their angora rabbit. It was probably painful for Halo and it was not fun for my mom to groom either! We did a lot of pampering and baby talking to keep Halo comfy for this grooming. All five of our rabbits that were on that bunny transport came to us like this. Just so anyone knows that reads this. The rabbits were not dropped off in bad shape with the transporter. Two were messy and needed groomed but not sick. We only did this many pictures of one of the rabbits so you can see how bad it was. BUT all of them looked like this :(
If you are new to the angora breed and are reading this to learn, please comb or blow out your bunny at least three times a week depending on how dense their coat/wool is. This can be avoided with proper care and some TLC! Anyone who truly loves animals would not let this happen.
Excuse the messy barn! We always groom outside and this day we had rain showers and had to drag everything inside.
I love bunnies! Ahnka
Halo getting started was hard, the ear fur was attached to her back fur and had to be cut and separated.
This is an educational blog. I am not calling any bad people out by name. Just be careful who you hire to do a job. Some people will act like you owe them something because that is just the way they are and they never own up to being wrong. My dad is a preacher and I have watched this happen in lots of churches. My dad says this is unfortunately the way a lot of people are and I can only do my best to never treat others that way.
Some of my other bunnies that came from this same trip...
In a quarantine cage since one bunny died. Look at her messy coat!

I think it is a very hard job to transport bunnies when you take a lot of them at one time. Bunnies are very sensitive and can stress out so easy. Transporters have to schedule their pick ups and their drop offs to work with the room they have and the route they drive. It is a lot of work I understand and it is a lot of stress on one person.
I thought it was unfair that a lot of people seemed to be griping a lot at the transporter we were using for some of our bunnies. I thought she was doing the best that she could. THEN her trip kept having more and more problems. Break downs and trips back home and more break downs and trips back home. Too much of a load and never keeping the plan on schedule. Complainers and complaining. One thing after another. My family and I talked about what should have been done to keep it professional and safe for the animals. What we thought should happen, didn't. So after much time, we were expecting to meet and pick up our 5 bunnies within a few days and another breakdown of some sort. The transporter jetted home with the animals. We understood that air conditioning in the heat is very important. Especially because we have English Angoras! We wish she would have rented a vehicle and finished the route so we could have our bunnies and they would all have survived! Instead, she went home, didn't talk to half the people who were leaving her messages, dealing with her own medical/dental issues and we lost count of the days she was off the road. Then, one day she was headed back out and she did not meet us within a few days and pick up where she left off! She headed all the way back up north and even met a breeder again in New York that one of our bunnies came from that was on her bus all this time. WHAT?!!! So days go by again and then we finally get to meet her! We picked up our matted and messy bunnies off a very stinky bus. The transporter cursed heavily, not because she was mad, it was just part of her vocabulary she used in normal conversation. To make it worse, she used the Lords name in vain and that's when my mom stepped in and pointed to me and said my daddy is a preacher. I did not like that at all! I know that is wrong and I don't understand why she had to talk like that. It sure didn't seem like she was very professional! We had to go get the food that she was feeding because we wanted to transition the bunnies slowly since this was such a monster trip for them. We went home and got the bunnies out quickly. As we were putting them in the grass, all I could think of was how their feet must feel good to be on grass instead of wire! How nice it is for them to hop around and not be confined in those tiny cages stacked on top of each other. As my mom was putting Stella down, she put a water bowl in front of her and noticed her nose was crusty. We started getting frantic and checking everyone over quickly. We took a picture of Stella and left her alone as she was breathing heavy. All of this took place within just a few minutes of pulling into the yard. My mom walked away to get more playpens and water dishes and I picked up Stella because she wanted to get under the truck. I put her in a box and yelled for my mom to come quick, something was wrong! My mom came and took one look at Stella and said she wasn't breathing. She picked her up and said she was dead! We were very upset and my mom said, no one is going to believe this, what in the world happened! We had not even been home for 5 minutes! So my mom took a video as proof that Stella had just passed away. The lady that we got Stella from called us immediately. She said that her vet had seen all of her bunnies and there were records to prove they were all healthy. She said she was not sick when she was taken from her. We believed her too and she even offered to replace her when she had a bunny to replace her with. We didn't expect that at all, it wasn't her fault. So fast forward now, the video and pictures that we sent to that breeder went out at the same time the same pics and videos went out to the bunny transporter. As far as I know, the transporter has never contacted us at all. We know she knows about it because her friend that helps her send my mom a message and told her that she would tell the transporter the very next morning. Why we never heard anything is a mystery to me. We didn't blame or accuse anyone of anything. But after not even an I'm sorry for your loss and hearing of other animals dying on this trip, I think guilt has something to do with it. The two pictures here are of Stella just before she died (her toenails and her crusty nose).
Moral to the story, don't do business with someone who is over booked, not reliable, not clean, can't communicate or even speak to you when you simply ask a question. There are a lot of bad and a lot of good everything out there. It takes lessons to figure out who is who. Now we know. Stella was just turning a year old! Poor Stella!
We have great transporters we work with as well!

Mocha Lady has 3 torts(1 for sure has a VM), 1blue, 1 black and one chocolate VM
Pumpkin Pie has 4 torts and 2 REW that we can tell so far.
It looks like Paris has 4 REW and possibly 3 pearls of some sort...this one is a bit of a mystery!

Pumpkin Pie's babies are also a week old in this photo. All six of her original kits have survived! Yay! So she has 4 torts and two whites. We won't know if the whites are ermine or if they are ruby eyed white (REW). Just so you know, they don't have RED eyes that can creep you out. LOL They are actually really pretty double pink eyes! They are pretty and we hope they are REWs.

So here is Mocha Lady's one week old kits. They are older than that today but I took the pics when they were just 1 week old. They are soooo cute!!! Mocha has a colorful litter as you can see. There are 6 survivors so far. We have 3 torts, one blue, one black and one chocolate VM. One of the torts has a VM as well. VM if you don't know is a white spot that means the baby will carry the Vienna gene (blue eyes). It does not mean the baby will have blue eyes. I'll be updating pictures again soon because they are starting to open their eyes!
