Sweetie's kits are a week old here.

So Sweetie had a litter of 5 on November 21, 2018.  One baby had passed away at birth.  Then we lost one due to the cold because it had gotten wet.  Now, we have moved Sweetie in the house and she has her three kits indoors so we can keep a very close eye on them.  She has a smutty fawn, blue tort vm and a bew kit.  Sweetie has one partial blue eye and Yogurt is a BEW so the chance that these kits have blue eyes is very likely.  This is Yogurts first litter!  Both Yogurt and Sweetie are gorgeous!  We can't wait to see what these babies look like in a couple of weeks!

Halo kits are 1 week old

Halo, one of our pointed does had a dozen white babies on 11/20/18.  All have survived so far.  Since daddy (Boomer) is a pointed as well, we hope to see a lot of pointed babies in this litter.  They are a week old now and no color is showing up just yet.  We will keep posting updated pictures here on the updates page so keep looking!

Nadia's Litter (DOB 11/20/18) updated

Nadia has a beautiful litter!  She is doing very well with her kits.  She had 13 babies in this litter, which is our largest litter yet.  She had lost one baby before we even knew she had them, plus a peanut that passed away a few days later.  So now she has 11 going strong so far.  We have lots of color in this litter: Black, Blue, Lilac, Lynx, Chocolate and Chocolate Agouti.  We do not know if any will be chinchilla yet.  So far we do not see any harlequin markings on anyone but daddy is a lilac chinchilla so there is a chance that some could be chinchilla.  Keep watching for updates as we continue to post pictures here on this page.  The two pictures are of the babies at 2 days old and then at one week old.

Sweetie x Yogurt! 11/21

Sweetie who is a fawn VM doe with partial blue eyes was bred to Yogurt our BEW buck.  This is Yogurts first litter so we don't know what we will have.  They have 4 little bundles of love in the nest box this morning!

2 New Litters Born 11/20/18

Nadia, one of our harlequin does was bred to Teddy, a lilac chinchilla buck.  This litter was crazy big!  Nadia had 13 kits.  One was pushed aside and cold when we discovered she had kindled so we lost that one and there is one peanut that will probably pass in the next couple of days.  Nadia had 11 out of 12 survivors from her last litter (with lots of help) so we will see how this round goes.  We are not sure of colors yet but there is one black one in the bunch.

Halo is a pointed white and bred to Boomer, a lilac pointed.  Their litter has 12 pinkies in it!  Hopefully they are all pointed babies.  This is Halo's first litter for us.  She had a litter of 9 for MsMillies prior to moving in with us.  These two moms have their work cut out for them!  We will be assisting on supplementing as much as we can and update as they grow.  We certainly do not expect all of these babies to make it as these are extremely large litters!

English Angora babies!

We have two litters of bunnies right now.  One is Snuggle Bunny's single kit litter (BunBun) and she is reserved.  The other litter is Dove's litter of 8.  We have 7 reserved in the litter.  At this time we only have one broken tort doe (Lil Bits, pictured here)  that is available to reserve.  The litter is 5 weeks old now.

We are anxiously waiting to see what happens this week!  We have 5 does bred but we are not sure if they all are pregnant.
Nadia (harlequin) x Teddy (lilac chinchilla)
Aqua (blue) x Americas (broken tort)
Sweetie (fawn vm) x Yogurt (BEW)
Rio (black) x Oreo (broken black)
Halo (PW) x Boomer (Lilac Pointed)

They are due Nov 21st so keep an eye out for updates!  Right now we are guessing Nadia is for sure pregnant because she has gained quite a bit of weight.  She has large litters!  Halo looks like she is going to pop so she is probably pregnant as well.  Aqua has gained weight but this would be her first litter so we are not sure on her.  Sweetie has had one litter and it was very small.  She might have another small litter if she is pregnant.  This would be Rio's first litter as well and it doesn't seem like she is pregnant but we will just have to wait and see!

Check back for updates this week!

at country bumpkin bunnies we adore our bunnies

'Rabbits have a subtle repertoire of body language to communicate so they don't draw attention to themselves. They use these signals to bond with their hutch mates, and the humans in their lives to say 'I love you'.
