It's been a while since we have written in our blog. A lot has went on here at CBB. We have a new website design, thanks to Mr. Tim Weber of goweblive.com! We are very happy with the outcome :)

We have had some loss and lots of new bunnies. We lost a couple of our nice does due to bad feed. As a result, we did a hard, fast switch back to our old feed. We wanted to try Blue Seal Show Hutch Deluxe 17 and for a few months it seemed to be working out great.  Then all of a sudden, rabbits went off feed and two died. We are now back to our trusty Nutrena Country Feeds and they seem just fine on that. It is 16% so we give treats now and then to make up for the 2% protein with BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds). Our wool production is actually over an inch of growth a month.

We have had a few other issues with some of our brood does. We lost one we think hemorrhaged and aborted her litter and another lost a litter recently. Its never easy raising animals and its never a sure thing to have healthy new littles in the nest box. Crazy things can be drug into the rabbitry and cause upsets like bad weeds in the farmers hay, as well as parasites. We treat for everything but it is not always best to medicate for no reason. Rabbits are very hearty or they are very good at hiding their illness. We take it one day at a time and do the best to intervene and nurse them back to health.

We have several litters due right now and we are updating the Bunnies for Sale page as well as the Nursery with new kits. Keep a close eye on whats to come! We will try to update more often now that we are learning the new website a little better.
