What a nice surprise!

Our sweet little Dejah is a new mom and her kit colors really threw us off!  Genetically, she could not have thrown the colors she did as an agouti colored rabbit. So...we took a closer look at a shaved down bunny!  She is not an opal.  Dejah is a blue otter just like her brother Ty.  We bred Dejah to Yogurt since she possibly carried Vienna. She kindled 9 kits.  None of which are BEW.  We will test breed once more to be sure, before we say she does not carry vienna.  However, this breeding confirmed that our Yogurt is an agouti.  His pedigree is pretty well all BEW so we had to start from scratch on determining his hidden color.  We haven't bred him to a lot of color.  He seems to be an agouti that also carries self.  Dejah had a colorful litter!  We have black, blue and lilac tort and fox, black, chestnut and opal all in this litter.  Lots of them have heavy vienna markings on them as well.  All will be carriers since daddy is a BEW.  Here is  a sneak peak at the cuties! They are just starting to open their eyes.

We have kits in the nest box!

We have three new litters.  Not sure if there will be more as we bred several.  So far just three litters.
We bred only vienna lines for this batch of babies.  We have lots of BEW's and we have two other vienna carrier litters. We did this because of all the loss we had down at that rabbitry in FL that neglected our rabbits.  We lost our non vienna herd sires.  We now have replaced them somewhat and will be breeding for non vienna lines very soon.

Right now we are about to move this litter from the nursery page to the for sale page as we will start taking deposits now.  There are two BEW bucks and one BEW doe available still in this litter. The VM buck is spoken for and the VM doe will be staying here because we are going to retire momma "Sweetie".  So Sweetie will be looking for a new home very soon.

at country bumpkin bunnies we adore our bunnies

'Rabbits have a subtle repertoire of body language to communicate so they don't draw attention to themselves. They use these signals to bond with their hutch mates, and the humans in their lives to say 'I love you'.
