Merry Christmas Eve!

It has been a very busy month here at CBB!  We have had lots of bunnies leaving to go to their new homes, lots of bunnies born, and lots of grooming and picture taking going on!

We are down to just one junior who is ready to go still this month.  It is a beautiful black self doe.  She is from Berlin's litter.  She doesn't show any signs of vienna but that doesn't mean she isn't a carrier. Her points are all black and she is a darling! She had a home lined up but they are in the military and both being unfortunately deployed.  We are looking for a new home for Blackberry now as a result.

We had 8 new litters born since November 22, 2020. We will have lots of babies available to leave in January. Check them all out on the For sale page and Nursery page.

We would like to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Please remember what this day is all about. Happy Birthday Jesus!

English Angora with a horrible messy coat!

So when you find that you have a rabbit who likes to play in water and hay, lay on her sister, vice versa, AND gets peed on by a neighboring buck...you get this mess!

Don't fret! It is fixable and here is how...
First, try blowing out all the debris and any tangles that did not felt on the ends.
Then  whatever is left in a mess, use a slicker brush and brush out all of the tangles and debris.
Finish by blowing out and checking for any tangles, felting or debris that may have been missed.

Photos are of before, during and after groom.
This is our Abbey Road, a squirrel junior doe at 5 months old.  She rooms with her sister Miracle.  Miracle was clipped down already so she was not messy like this.

Stormy in her sweater

Stormy was recently harvested for wool and the temps were pretty cold at night.  She has had to wear her pretty little pink sweater just to be sure she doesn't get cold at night.  Today it was pretty nice out and she got out to play.   Here she is in her sweater lol

Desert Storm got a hair cut....wow!

Our Stormy was the latest to be harvested for her wool and she was amazing! This girl had so much more wool on her body than I ever thought.  Without keeping second cuttings or anything from her underside or legs, she produced a beautiful 6 ounces of raw prime chocolate fiber!

at country bumpkin bunnies we adore our bunnies

'Rabbits have a subtle repertoire of body language to communicate so they don't draw attention to themselves. They use these signals to bond with their hutch mates, and the humans in their lives to say 'I love you'.
