About this doe:

Abbey and Miracle were the only two in their litter.  Born to RW Squirrel, there were some complications and we decided to keep them both.  They are a bonded pair for now.
Abbey is  a squirrel which is what blue chinchilla color is called in EA. Miracle is an ermine.  Ermine is essentially a white chinchilla.

Miracle was injured at just a couple days old and had a terrible foot injury.  She gets around great and lives with her sister.  She will remain here as long as she wants to :)  They are getting older now and still very much bonded.

Abbey belongs to Celeste, that's one of her babies.  So she was named by Celeste.  We use themes of places when naming our bunnies so Abby Road it is, because of the Beetles!

Miracle is lucky she was not culled in the beginning.  We though she was going to lose her entire leg and not be able to eat/nurse.  She was a strong little girl and pulled herself out of a bad situation quickly.  She bounced back and so her name quickly became the Miracle bunny.  Kremmling is a place in Colorado that we love.  It is beautiful and peaceful and has a lot of open land and views of God's breathtaking mountains! So we chose Krimmling Miracle for this beautiful bunny.

Messy English Angora Coat

We found our Abbey looking a disaster (pictured below). She shares a home with her sister Miracle and they tend to lay on each other a lot! Not only that, there is a buck next door that we have now found, likes to spray!  The girls like to play with their hay and water which makes a huge mess. Top that off by them laying in it.  It was certainly pretty gross and I didn't think I was going to be able to salvage her coat.  However, if you notice below in the slideshow, she cleaned up well!

We found her in this mess!

Miracle's Story

Miracles ankle had wool wrapped around it so tight that it took a surgical blade on clippers to remove it. This happened in the night so we did not find it until morning.
Her leg appeared broken but the swelling went down over night.

We knew her leg was healing but we weren't sure of her foot.  Within a week we could tell her foot had actually died and you can see the comparison between the healthy foot and her dead foot in the two pictures above.

It might be hard to make out what this picture is of up above. The skin with no hair on it is actually her heel. She did lose the one foot but she gets around absolutely great!  She loves her sister and they live together for now. We are actually going to see how well they do when we breed her sis and see if they can still remain roomies.
